How to Find Us

There are 3 bus routes …

35 – Oxford – Kennington – Radley –  Abingdon;

35A – Matthew Arnold School – Kennington;

BB1A – Rose Hill – Iffley – Kennington – Abingdon – Didcot Schools

… serving Kennington quite frequently each day, and the Poohsticks bridge is just a few minutes walk from the main road through Kennington, called The Avenue.

There are tow paths for walking or cycling to and from the Poohsticks Bridge on either side of the river Thames. If you are on two wheels, take Cycle Route 5 from the centre of Oxford.

We are not encouraging car parking along the narrow lane (Sandford Lane) leading to the PoohSticks Bridge from Kennington, and we are not using the industrial estate car park. There is limited parking next to the King’s Arms Pub (pay and display).

Buses

The nearest Bus Stop to the Poohsticks Bridge is called the Sandford Lane Bus Stop. There is a Bus Stop on either side of The Avenue. Alight from the bus, walk for a few minutes down Sandford Lane, and you will reach the Poohsticks Bridge:

Signs

There will be signs for pedestrians and there will be members of the Poohsticks team on the footpaths pointing visitors in the right direction.

There will be Poohsticks signs in the area on the day so we hope no one gets lost. We will have marshals to welcome you and point you in the right direction towards the Registration Tent, the Keeper of the Sticks and the bridge.
